En bref

A new crypto headline is not an instruction. Verify the source, the status, and the exact action before signing or sending.

01

First check what kind of update it is

A post can describe a live change, a tool or instruction that is already available, or a proposal on a roadmap. The Ethereum Foundation's current priorities place FOCIL and Frame Transactions in a planned fork scope and describe post-quantum work for later forks; that is useful context, not a wallet-upgrade command.

Before acting, look for words such as proposed, devnet, testnet, or mainnet and confirm the status in the protocol's own documentation. If the status is unclear, waiting is a valid action.

02

Follow the exact source, not the story

A polished page, familiar logo, or deepfake endorsement can make an investment pitch look independently confirmed. ASIC warns that scammers can connect fake sites, reviews, and endorsements into one convincing network, so open the regulator, foundation, or protocol's own page using a route you found yourself and compare the exact domain.

Treat search results, reposts, and private messages as leads rather than proof. Never provide a recovery phrase, private key, login code, or funds to prove a claim.

03

Do not turn a network change into an urgent signature

Solana's rent reduction can leave some accounts with lamports above the new rent-exempt minimum, and its documented instruction can move only the surplus without closing the account. That does not make every reclaim prompt safe: verify the wallet or program flow, the authority, and the destination before signing, and stop when a prompt is unfamiliar.

If the update changes how a route or account works, record the source and the exact action first. A clear official release can tell you whether to wait, update through the wallet's normal channel, or take no action at all.
